Women/Girls

Girls only Youth Teams (13th – 19th grade)

  • A maximum of 16 players selected for teams
  • Players will train once or twice a week depending on coach availability plus a game on Saturday
  • Players will train in term 2/3 and players have the option (ability depending) to join the SUFC Talent Centre to improve their football
  • Coaches are encouraged to become a part of the in-house coach education and coaches will be mentored during the season to help understand the club’s development philosophy
  • SUFC provides each player with a team strip consisting of shirt & shorts. Club socks are available for purchase prior to and during the season

Girls only Colts Teams (13th- 19th grade)

  • A maximum of 16 players selected for Girls Development teams
  • Girls top youth teams will train 3 times a week (beginning with 14th Grade 2018), other teams will be at the discretion of the coach
  • Players turning 15 can be selected for the top women’s side (currently PDL, with an aim for Women’s Premier League moving forward)
  • Players involved in the division one team will train from Term 1 through to Term 3 and optionally they can train in Term 4. Players in these groups have the opportunity to represent the federation at National Age Group Tournament at the end of the year
  • SUFC provides each player with a team strip consisting of shirt & shorts. Club socks are available for purchase prior to and during the season
  • Players in this group have the opportunity to be selected for the Canterbury United Pride Academy for their age group which is a centralised academy
  • Coaches have a minimum of a Senior Level 2/Youth Level 3
